2010 Kentucky State Air Pistol And Air Rifle Championship 2010 Progressive Position Pistol Championship
Date: April 17, 2010 (Air Pistol), April 18, 2010 (Air Rifle)
Time: First relay at 9 a.m. Because of the use of electronic targets infiltration of shooters as space is available will continue until all shooters have fired. Approximate relay times will be given to shooters after the first relay of 12 shooters has been filled via preregistration. No shooters will be squadded after 12:00 noon unless the number of shooters indicates the need to add additional time for relays to be done. There will be a Shootoff for the top 8 for air rifle and air pistol 20 minutes following the posting of results.
Categories: There will be categories for Marksman, Sharpshooter, Expert, and Master. For Progressive Position categories will serve as the state qualifier for the 2010 Progressive Position Junior Olympics held in July at Camp Perry. The categories are as follows… • Basic Supported- For shooters up to age 13. May use support and use both hands on grip. • Standing Supported- For shooters up to age 15. May use support while standing and one hand on gun. • International One-Handed Standing- Age- whenever shooter is able to physically hold pistol correctly. No support. One hand grip only. Course Of Fire: Open air rifle and air pistol and junior air pistol, 60 shots in 105 minutes. Junior air rifle 40 shots in 55 minutes. Progressive Position is 75 minutes for 40 shots. All times include sighter shots. The highest Kentucky resident finisher in each shootoff will be declared state champion.
Rules: All current NRA International Air Pistol and Air Rifle rules apply.
Cost: $15 Adult $5 Junior. Membership in the Kentucky State Rifle and Pistol Association is highly recommended as they are the ones that supply the trophies and keep competitive shooting viable in the state of Kentucky!
Awards: Annual Trophies given for high open, junior, and woman in pistol. For rifle, an annual Trophy is given for high open and high junior. Winners are eligible for multiple trophies!
